How do I determine the right shoe size?

Basically, you shouldn’t only let your eyes decide which shoes you choose. Maximum walking comfort has to be felt by your feet. Therefore, first of all, you need shoes in the correct size and fit. How do I measure my foot size?

Wearing socks, stand with both feet on a piece of paper. Trace around the outline of your feet with a pencil. Make sure you hold the pencil upright! Measure the length of this sketch from the big toe to the heel. Afterwards, compare the measured length with the table. If your feet are different sizes, take the data from the larger foot.

How do I calculate the shoe size?

At BÄR, we use the international scale for shoe sizes. If you only have German sizes available, simply read the corresponding international size in the chart on the right. If you have an “in-between size” that is not found in the chart, simply select the next higher international size.

Which fit is right for me?

With BÄR, your foot calls the shots. Whether ladies or gentlemen, you have the choice between two types of foot lasts. Simply have a look at the catalogue or on the Internet at the descriptipon or the respective symbol:

Narrow fit

We have developed a narrow fit with comfortable toefreedom for the narrow to normal foot shape.

Standard fit

We have developed a standard fit with lots of toefreedom for the normal to wide foot shape. They are also suitable for feet with a high arch that would be too restricted in narrow shoes.
